Sam is the CEO of Mudth-Niyleta Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Corporation, an Indigenous community-controlled organisation established in 1988. Based in Sarina, south of Mackay, Mudth-Niyleta provides a wide range of services to both Indigenous and non-Indigenous community members, including aged care, health brokerage, education, work readiness, advocacy, traditional activities, and community housing.

With over 30 years of dedicated service to Mudth-Niyleta, Sam plays a pivotal role in the strategic and administrative leadership of the organisation. He works closely with staff, community members, partner agencies, and other stakeholders to support programs and initiatives that strengthen community wellbeing and foster sustainable growth. Sam also shares his extensive financial and accounting expertise with local Indigenous organisations, promoting professional and robust financial systems to enable these organisations to focus on delivering high-quality services.

A proud Kalkadoon man, Sam’s commitment to education and community leadership was recognised in 2013 when he was named Mackay Region Tertiary Scholar of the Year by the NAIDOC Awards Committee. Beyond his executive role, Sam is passionate about mentoring Indigenous youth and actively contributes to several boards and public reference groups across the Mackay region. His leadership, experience, and dedication continue to make a lasting impact on the community and the people Mudth-Niyleta serves.
